Madeleine Mitchell & Nigel Clayton Barnes Music Society Concert
Violinist Madeleine Mitchell returns to the Barnes Music Society Concert, following her well received Nocturne programme, with the sumptuous Légende by Delius, Vaughan Williams’ ever popular Lark Ascending based on the poem by George Meredith, in the original version with piano, and the exciting third Sonata by Grieg, which is full of Norwegian folkloric themes, with a highly romantic slow movement. Madeleine also plays the short, haunting solo violin piece by Joseph Horovitz, Dybbuk Melody based on the legend of the Dybbuk.
She is joined by her long-time collaborative pianist, Nigel Clayton and their programme is completed by a Beethoven Sonata.
