Event Summary:
The Barnes Concert Band present a fabulously varied programme featuring the music of Nigel Hess’s Shakespeare Pictures; the mystical Hunter’s Moon; and music television drama in the shape of Pride and Prejudice and Hetty Wainthrop Investigates. The programme will also include iconic theme tunes from pen of John Barry and his timeless James Bond Scores and ends with John Miles’ rock classic, Music.
The Band are thrilled to be back at the Barnes Music Festival and particularly in 2025, their 50th Anniversary year. In the early 1970s a small group of Barnes residents founded the Band with the help of trainee Bandmasters at Kneller Hall, the Royal Military School of Music in Whitton. Were you one of the founding members, or do you know anyone who played in the Band in the early days? If you have any memories to share or can help shed some light on the Band’s history please get in touch via email [email protected]
